What is Ramadan?
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and a time when Muslims across the world will fast during the hours of daylight.
Ramadan is the fourth of the five pillars of Islam.
The Qur'an was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad(ﷺ) during this month.
The actual night that the Qur'an was revealed is a night known as Lailut ul-Qadr ('The Night of Power').
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه said:
"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'There has come to you Ramadan, a blessed month, which Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has enjoined you to fast. In it the gates of heavens are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and every devil is chained up. In it Allah has a night which is better than a thousand months; whoever is deprived of its goodness is indeed deprived."'

Taraweeh
We have been praying Taraweeh prayers in congregation for the last few years.
We will be praying Taraweeh in the HUB this year.
Sisters attending Taraweeh can use the HUB Meeting Room (except for 2 occasions when sisters are requested to attend in the main hall)
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "He who observes optional prayer (Taraweeh prayers) throughout Ramadan, out of sincerity of Faith and in the hope of earning reward will have his past sins pardoned."
[Al- Bukhari and Muslim]
Qiyaam al-layl
We will be praying Qiyaam al-layl for the last 10 nights in congregation.
Narrated `Aisha (RA):
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to practice I`tikaf in the last ten nights of Ramadan and used to say, "Look for the Night of Qadr in the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan."Sahih al-Bukhari Book 32, Hadith 7
