During Ramadan on Saturday 2nd June 2018, Cambourne Muslim community cooked food for Jimmy’s Cambridge Shelter for Homeless.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Feed the hungry, visit the sick, and set free the captives.”
[Sahih al-Bukhari 5649]
On average Jimmy’s Shelter feeds 35 people (homeless and few caretakers). For over 20 years, Jimmy’s has been providing help for the homeless in Cambridge.
Ramadan is a time for increased charity and generosity. Fasting is intended to bring Muslims closer to God and to remind them of those in the world who are hungry and less fortunate.
